Let’s get connected.

What is a Well-Connected Therapist?

The Well-Connected Therapist knows that in order to connect with others, we have to primarily focus on strengthening trust and connection within ourselves and to the spaces we occupy on any given moment. The Well-Connected Therapist has committed to investing in support in order to consistently reach out and develop meaningful professional relationships and build a strong referral base. This strong referral base is one that ends up doing the work of marketing for us, and allows us even more time to focus on our direct work with our clients.

As a therapist, you know ALL about the importance of connection. You provide a safe space for your clients every moment of every day to help them feel more connected within themselves, to the world around them, and with others who support their needs and preferences. But very often, we are not feeling very connected ourselves and struggle to get the same type of support that we are providing for our clients daily.

As we have all felt at some point in the process of building a private practice, being a solo practitioner can be isolating…but we do not have to allow ourselves to stay isolated. As private practice therapists, we are actually able to choose who we include in our business as our professional colleagues, but we often get stuck in isolation due to the challenges that arise whenever we even think of initiating connection with other professionals. These challenges can include imposter syndrome, difficulty articulating clearly what we do, or the energy drain that we feel when reaching out and meeting with people we do not already know.

And if you are an introverted therapist…well, then connecting with people we don’t know can be downright exhausting.

This is why I’ve created a 1:1 coaching program to help you become a Well-Connected Therapist—all while focusing on taking care of yourself in sustainable ways!

YOU are in charge of your practice, so you also get to develop a new definition for yourself of what it means to be authentically well-connected!

Hi, I’m Susannah!

I’m a trauma-informed, nature based expressive arts therapist and licensed professional counselor, with dual licensure in Massachusetts and Colorado. In my private practice, I love to bring therapy clients "off the couch" and into the outdoors to help them connect with the multifaceted powers of imagination, sense of humor, playfulness, and creativity to heal trauma and thrive.

For the past 24 years, I traveled an eclectic career path that has included employment as a public school teacher in Baltimore, an Outdoor Experiential Educator in Michigan and Ohio, A museum arts educator in Ohio, A school counselor in Boston, the lead singer in a touring East Coast band, an Expressive Arts therapist and Director of a College/Career Access program in Lynn, MA, private practice therapist, and a coach for other private practice therapists.

During the past 11 years, I have built private practices in two different states by focusing on building authentic connections with others in and outside of my career field—and without putting much effort into online or print marketing materials! Yes, you heard that right: I built a full fee practice without a website.

It wasn’t easy or fun for me at first. I have always identified as an introvert at my very core, and initiating contact with others was something I was only able to do with a LOT of support and guidance along the way.

Networking is now enjoyable for me, even as an introvert! I have made it my mission to help YOU learn to stop avoiding networking and start enjoying connecting! I’ll support you with learning how to connect with and nurture your most authentic self before you connect with others, so that you can become a well-connected therapist too.

Connecting with others actually starts from within—and I am here to support you in that process.

I’d love to connect.
